Today is a day I have been longing for and will never forget. Two-and-a-half years ago, I heard Don Piper, author of 90 Minutes in Heaven, share his testimony at church. If you’ve read my story, you know that 18 words changed my life, the only words I was able to hear that morning through the flare up of my disease. Yet, his words gave me hope that God could use me through the difficulties of my disease and allow me to fully accept my chronic illness.

I’ve never made a claim to love reading, but I could not put down 90 Minutes in Heaven. Don Piper was kind enough to stop and listen to my story for a couple of minutes today. I was able to share what an impact his testimony and book had on my life. I mentioned those 18 words to him, as he recited them back to me with excitement. It was a joy to meet this humble, gracious gentleman. As I shared, he made me feel important, even though he had likely heard numerous stories like mine before. What a blessing to meet this incredible man, whose life-changing story miraculously changed mine.
